The Loveland Castle, located in the small city of Loveland, Ohio, is a unique piece of medieval architecture right in the heart of the Midwest.

It’s also my favorite childhood school field trip!  It seemed like we visited the castle at least once a year during grade school.  The owner was still alive at that time – yes, I’m showing my age!

Built by hand over the course of decades by a single man and it’s become an iconic destination in the Cincinnati area.

You’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time as you explore the castle grounds.

A Brief History

Loveland Castle, also known as Chateau Laroche, is a quite a unique attraction which is located in Loveland, Ohio.

It was constructed in the early 20th century by a man named Harry Andrews, who was fascinated with medieval architecture and history.   Andrews spent many years building the castle with the help of his family and friends, using salvaged materials from various locations around Ohio.

Its walls are constructed of stones and bricks, crafted to look like a genuine castle from the Middle Ages.
